EXPERT WITNESS SERVICES

Law-firm disputes can be among the most complex and strongly fought forms of litigation. Trials often depend on information and explanations provided by outside experts. Engaging the services of an expert witness who brings an impartial, respected voice to a case can make the difference between a winning and losing verdict.

Our attorneys are frequently called upon to serve as expert witnesses in disputes and break-ups on behalf of our clients. We often:

  • Act in the capacity of both the plaintiff (client) and defendant (lawyer) in legal malpractice cases involving breach of fiduciary duties and other claims
  • Prepare affidavits of merit and expert reports
  • Provide testimony in depositions and at bench trials and jury trials

Fee-related disputes that surface between individual lawyers, law firms and other parties in connection with legal proceedings are delicate and complicated. We resolve these issues with sensitivity and diplomacy.

GENERAL COUNSEL

Our office provides general counseling services for various companies and individuals, and, has:

  • Directed the litigation efforts of attorneys hired by clients to represent them in lawsuits located outside of Pennsylvania and New Jersey
  • Served as a “second opinion” for advice being rendered by other litigation counsel, often upon the referral of original litigation counsel
  • Assisted in contractual negotiations in business matters and in the negotiation of settlements in litigation
  • Provided legal advice and counsel in various business and litigation contexts

LOCAL COUNSEL

Local counsel services range from ensuring pleadings comply with local rules of procedure and appearing at court proceedings to appearing and assisting at trial as co-lead counsel. We serve as local counsel on behalf of clients and law firms in California, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Florida.

CORPORATE LITIGATION COUNSEL

Several individuals and companies with their own corporate attorneys or in-house counsel attorneys look to our firm when faced with litigation matters or seek general legal counsel. Our office currently serves as outside legal counsel for several area businesses in this capacity, including businesses in the retail, surety, transportation, publishing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, environmental clean-up, and automotive sales industries.
