Today, the USMLE Program announced that it’s recent decision to grade the USMLE Step 1 Examination on a pass/fail basis will not be “moved up” to a date earlier than January 2021. NBME and FSMB (the co-sponsors of the USMLE examination) have not yet announced the precise date on which the USMLE Step 1 exam will transition from its 3-digit scoring system to a pass/fail system.
